Water Proofing

Although the fabric used on the sports shelter is water "resistant", it is not water proof. Not many fabrics are, as I have found out through research and trial and error. Like many "tents" the fabric sheds water and resists the water from going through it. Once the fabric becomes saturated it will develop small beads of water on the inside and will begin to drip. This is only after a day of rain or the shelter not being allowed to dry out after use in wet conditions.

Their is a way to make the sports shelter fabric more resistant to water and that is with applying a exterior water repellent spray or substance. You can purchase this at various retail stores where you buy tents and outdoor gear. I have used several different kinds of spray-on water repellents and have found them to improve the "water proofing" of the sports shelter. Like everything, some work better than others. At this time it is up to you to purchase and use the product that works best for you. In the very near future Premier Sports Products will offer, what we think is the best, a water repellant that can be purchased and applied by us.

Remember to allow your sports shelter to dry out after using it outside in the wet weather.

The Real Story

My name is Paul and I invented and sell the Premier Sports Shelter. I am not a huge corporation and I don't have employees. I am one person who does everything! I work seven days a week. I answer my phone after hours and when I probably shouldn't. I invite customers to my home where I store and work on the sports shelters, so they can save money on shipping. I have a day job that pays the mortgage, college expenses for my first daughter and everything else. I travel long distances to deliver and demonstrate the sports shelters innovative features and benefits. I am your typical small business owner who is trying to make it in a cut-throat retail world with my invention. I do whatever it takes to make a sale and reach out to my customer and to market the sports shelter. I love doing all this, even though I don't sleep at night, sometimes, because my brain won't shut off!

I really don't like pretending to be something I'm not, a big company. So, when you call and a young girl answers my phone that is my secretary daughter answering your call because I'm out side mowing the lawn or fixing my daughters car. If you call and ask for sales you get me. If you call ask for the owner that is me. If you call and ask for parts that is me too. I hope one day to move out of my rec. room so we (my family) can have our home back. This business endeavor has taken over my life, money and home, but I would not give up this experience for anything!

So, when you call please remember to ask for "Paul".

Paul

What's Up!

When taking the sports shelter out and laying it on the ground to put up, you want to make sure the sports shelter is oriented up. The way you know the sports shelter is oriented up is by looking at the front connector. The front connector is angled upward with the webbing end pointed up as well.

There are other ways to tell if you have the sports shelter oriented in the right direction, but this is the easiest and fastest way to tell.

Sports Shelters and Rain

The sports shelter is excellent at keeping you and your stuff dry. Because of its design it can easily keep the rain off your equipment and people, but the sports shelter fabric is not water proof. It is water resistant! Meaning it will keep the rain out for a period of time, until the fabric becomes saturated with water. Once this occurs the fabric will start to "weep" small droplets. So, I recommend using a water repellent  spray to increase the fabrics ability to resist the absorption of the rain. You can find this stuff at most fabric stores, outdoor emporiums or anywhere tents are sold.

Remember after using the sports shelter in the rain, you need to let it dry out. This means unzip the bag and remove the shelter, so it can drip dry in your garage or in a dry area. You don't have to set the shelter up, but it will help to spread it apart and lean it against the wall. I have limited space in my garage so this is what I do and it works great.

Cheers,
Paul

Setting Up the Sports Shelter.

When setting up the sports shelter try and keep the back of the shelter to the weather. This way you will be sure to get the most protection. Always secure the sports shelter to the ground some way. Either by using the spikes for grass or the weight bags , filled with sand, to keep the sports shelter from becoming air born. As always, use good judgment and common sense when putting up the sports shelter. It wasn't designed for hurricanes or tornado's!
